Dzikra Successfully Touches the Heart at the TACES Event
Telkom Annual English Competition (TACES) is a competition held by Student English Society (SES) Telkom University. SES itself is a student activity unit at Telkom University, comprising students from all faculties who are interested in English and English competitions. TACES itself has six fields of competition, namely:, debate, speech, scrabble, newscasting, movie making, And storytelling. 2018 is the third year TACES has been held since SES was held.
It's only natural that Telkom University students are champions in their own country. One of them is Dzikra Handika. This Information Technology Business Management (MBTI) student won third place in the TACES competition held on April 14 and 15, 2018, at Telkom University. Initially, Dzikra had to defeat 11 other participants in the preliminary round. Dzikra delivered a speech on the theme “"Should we explore the world?"” that had been prepared. Then, 7 participants were selected to advance to the semi-final round. In the semi-final round, participants were given several themes to choose from and were given 15 minutes to create a speech. After that, participants had to deliver the speech with humor. After going through the semi-final round, 5 participants were selected to advance to the final round. In the final round, participants were required to deliver a motivational speech and were given 30 minutes to create the speech. In the end, Dzikra won 3rd place in the category speech.
English competitions are truly enjoyable, especially when held on your own campus. Hopefully, more Telkom University students will win trophies in the future. This SES competition can also be a platform for those of us interested in English and motivate us to strive for excellence.
